IFIP TC 6: Communication Systems
Aims and Scope

Aims

The Aims of the Committee are:

  1. to promote the international exchange of information related to communication systems;
  2. to bridge gaps existing between users, telecommunication operators, service providers, and computer and equipment manufacturers;
  3. to establish working contracts with international bodies concerned with data communication, such as ITU, ETSI, ISO, IEEE, IETF, ACM and ITC.

Scope

The Scope of its work includes all aspects of communication systems, such as research on and design, manufacture and operation of products, systems, concepts and architectures related to information exchange.

PS: As of May 2009, the IFIP Technical Committee on Communication Systems (TC6) has decided to no longer co-sponsor conferences nor workshops (co-) organized by ICST (The Institute for Computer Sciences, Social-Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering).
